My role as an artist involves being a translator, an instigator, a mediator and a problem solver- In other words, as artist Andrea Frasier puts it, a “service provider” . The artist eye is a labor in itself. We have the ability (and should use it) to interpret language in a way that can be understood by the public. We must include this in our art process. It is my mission to move in this direction. As an artist starting primarily with concepts I do not belong to a specific genre of art. However, I do repeatedly employ categories such as dialogic art, social practice, bio art and institutional critique. I often place myself as green or environmental resilient artist. I can be seen as an interventionist. I utilize strategies that will provoke discussion and bring forward self-awareness of practice. With regard to material, I utilize energy-auditing systems, apply them to traditional material and present them through objects video and digital formats.
